David Pavich was born in Sydney, Australia in 1965 and studied visual arts at the National Art School in Sydney for 3 years graduating in 1985. He has also lived in Paris from 1988-93 exhibiting in Europe as well as Australia with 17 solo exhibitions to date and numerous group exhibitions. Pavich finds Inspiration from the vastness and variety of the Australian landscape. There is the harsh, dry, arid regions of Australia, which provide an eerie atmosphere, and other times lush coastal areas, which create a certain feelings of paradise. The intensity of the Australian light enables the creation of dramatic moods, at times enhancing a surreal or dreamlike quality within the bounds of the canvas.
